About Genius Terminal
Genius Terminal is a trading terminal for perpetuals, backed by YZi Labs, aimed at professional traders who want execution tooling rather than another exchange front end. The token arrived on 13 April 2026 on BNB Smart Chain, with 70 million GENIUS set aside for the airdrop out of a one billion supply.
The claim design is the reason this entry exists. Recipients were given two options and no middle ground. Claim inside a seven day window and an automatic 70% burn applied, so 30% of the allocation arrived and the other 70% was permanently destroyed. Alternatively, do nothing at all, and the allocation locked into a smart contract for a year before becoming claimable in full.
Note which way round that runs. In almost every other airdrop in this archive, failing to act costs you everything. Here, failing to act was the financially correct choice. The seven day window existed only to let impatient holders destroy 70% of their own allocation in exchange for immediate liquidity, and the default outcome for anyone who never saw the announcement was the better one.

How it worked to get the Genius Terminal airdrop
Earn points before the TGE
Genius published an airdrop and score whitepaper setting out how points were earned ahead of the token being created, with the allocation following that scoring.
Decide within seven days
The immediate claim window ran a week from the announcement. This was a decision point, not a deadline in the usual sense, because letting it pass was itself a valid choice.
Option one, take 30% now
Claiming inside the window triggered an automatic 70% burn. The tokens were permanently destroyed rather than returned to treasury, so the supply genuinely shrank.
Option two, do nothing
Taking no action locked the full allocation in a smart contract for one year, after which 100% could be claimed. No registration, no portal visit and no action required.
Or come through an exchange
Binance listed GENIUS as its 65th HODLer Airdrop, and MEXC ran a separate Airdrop+ event with 45,000 USDT in rewards, neither of which involved the burn mechanic.
Was the Genius Terminal airdrop worth it?
- Doing nothing was the right answer. This inverts the usual airdrop trap. Anyone who missed the announcement entirely ended up on the better path, holding 100% after a year instead of burning 70% for speed.
- Taking 30% meant valuing liquidity at more than triple. Claiming immediately only made sense if you believed GENIUS would fall by more than 70% over the year, or you simply needed the tokens now.
- The burn was real. Tokens were permanently destroyed rather than recycled into treasury, so early claimers reduced total supply for everyone who waited.
- Seven days is a very short decision window. A one week deadline to make a call with year long consequences favours whoever happened to be paying attention that week.
- It is part of a 2026 pattern. Several launches that year used burn or wait mechanics to suppress launch selling. Read the terms before claiming anything in this era, because the obvious action is sometimes the expensive one.
