About Berachain

Berachain runs a consensus design it calls Proof of Liquidity, where the assets securing the chain are the same assets providing liquidity to applications on it, rather than sitting idle in a staking contract.

The project grew out of an NFT community, and the February 2025 distribution reflected that history. Holders of the original NFT line qualified alongside the cohort that had worked through an unusually long and well documented incentivised testnet.

It was the headline launch of early 2025 and the largest distribution of that year.
