About Instadapp
Instadapp sits above the lending markets rather than competing with them. Its DeFi Smart Accounts let a user refinance a position from Compound to Aave, swap collateral or unwind leverage in a single transaction, where doing it by hand meant a sequence of approvals and the risk of being liquidated halfway through.
INST launched in June 2021 with a retroactive allocation to the addresses that had already used those accounts. The protocol later rebranded to Fluid and rebuilt around its own lending engine.

How it worked to get the Instadapp airdrop
Create a DeFi Smart Account
The account contract was the unit of eligibility. Wallets that had deployed and used one formed the base of the distribution.
Manage a real position through it
Refinancing, collateral swaps and leverage adjustments all counted as genuine use rather than a single qualifying deploy.
Be there before June 2021
The snapshot read history and was published with the token, so there was no window to farm once it was announced.
Claim INST and vote
The token carried governance over the protocol's direction, including the eventual move to Fluid.
Was the Instadapp airdrop worth it?
- It rewarded people solving a real problem. Refinancing between lending markets by hand was genuinely risky in 2020. The people who qualified had used the tool because the alternative was worse, not because a token was coming.
- The snapshot could not be gamed. Eligibility was read from history and announced afterwards, the same pattern Uniswap and 1inch used.
- The protocol did not stand still. Instadapp became Fluid and rebuilt around its own lending engine, so holders ended up governing something quite different from what they had used.
