About Sahara AI
Sahara AI is building infrastructure for AI on its own chain, and the piece that matters for the airdrop is the Data Services Platform. AI models need labelled data, labelling is work, and Sahara paid people to do it, tracking contributions as Sahara Points across collection, labelling and curation tasks.
That makes this one of the very few large distributions where the qualifying activity was labour rather than capital or attention. Data Services Platform contributors took 4.05% of total supply, the single largest named slice of an 8.15% airdrop, with a further 0.50% for ecosystem builders and enterprise partners. Nobody needed a deposit, a bridge transaction or a social score to earn here. They needed to do tasks.
The release schedule is less generous than the criteria. Only 44% of the airdrop unlocked at the June 2025 token generation event, with the remaining 56% released through cliffs and linear monthly unlocks afterwards. So a data annotator who had worked through the campaign received under half of what they had earned on the day the token listed.

How it worked to get the Sahara AI airdrop
Do tasks on the Data Services Platform
The main route, and the largest allocation at 4.05% of total supply. Data collection, labelling and curation tasks accrued Sahara Points, which set the allocation.
Keep contributing over time
Points accumulated across the campaign rather than off a single snapshot, so sustained work counted for more than a burst of activity.
Or build on the ecosystem
A separate 0.50% of supply went to ecosystem builders and enterprise partners, aimed at teams integrating with Sahara rather than individuals doing annotation work.
Or stake BNB on Binance
Binance ran a HODLer airdrop distributing 125 million SAHARA, 1.25% of supply, to BNB stakers. This required nothing from the Sahara ecosystem at all.
Claim from 26 June, then wait for the rest
The claim opened at 12:00 UTC on 26 June 2025 alongside the Binance listing. It delivered 44% of the allocation, with the other 56% arriving through cliffs and monthly unlocks.
Was the Sahara AI airdrop worth it?
- It paid for work, not for capital. Data labelling and curation were the main qualifying activity, and the largest slice of the airdrop went to the people doing it. Almost nothing else in this archive rewards labour that way.
- No capital meant no barrier. Unlike the deposit driven campaigns of the same period, anyone willing to spend time on tasks could earn here regardless of what they had to invest.
- Less than half arrived at launch. 44% unlocked at TGE and the rest came through cliffs and monthly unlocks, so the headline 8.15% overstates what recipients held on 26 June 2025.
- BNB stakers got 1.25% for doing nothing related. The Binance HODLer allocation required no Sahara participation whatsoever, and it was a meaningful fraction of what the data contributors received.
- Community share was genuinely large. Community and Ecosystem took 64.25% of supply against 19.75% for early backers, which is a healthier split than most AI launches of 2025.
