About LayerZero

LayerZero is the messaging layer a large share of cross-chain applications are built on — Stargate, Aptos Bridge and many others route through it, which makes it infrastructure rather than a destination.

Its first ZRO distribution in June 2024 released 85 million tokens and was notable for aggressive sybil filtering: a self-report window, a bounty for reporting others, and a "proof of donation" claim requiring 10 cents per ZRO toward Protocol Guild. A second round followed later in 2024, excluding wallets that claimed in the first and then went inactive.

LayerZero has since stated it has no plans for a further airdrop. In August 2026 it announced ATLAS, exchange infrastructure built on its Zero blockchain, with part of the fees directed to ZRO buybacks and burns.

How LayerZero rewards work now

Step 1

Understand that the airdrops are over

Both ZRO rounds completed in 2024 and LayerZero has said there are no plans for another. Farming bridge volume today has no announced reward attached to it.
Step 2

Hold ZRO for buyback exposure

ATLAS directs part of its fees to ZRO buybacks and burns, so value accrues to holders rather than to new farmers.
Step 3

Use the protocol if you need it

Stargate and the wider ecosystem remain genuinely useful infrastructure. Use them because they work, not in expectation of a distribution.
Why This Airdrop Matters
  1. LayerZero ran one of the most rigorously sybil-filtered distributions in crypto, which is why its token holder base is unusually genuine.
  2. ATLAS directs fees to buybacks and burns, so protocol revenue reaches token holders directly.
  3. It remains core cross-chain infrastructure with real volume rather than farm-driven activity.
Important Note
  • LayerZero has stated it has no plans for a further airdrop. Claims of a 'Season 2' circulating on aggregator sites are not supported by anything the Foundation has said.
  • Both ZRO distributions completed in 2024. Bridging today earns no announced reward.
  • The first round disqualified large numbers of wallets through sybil filtering, and the claim itself required a donation payment per token.
  • Bridging costs real gas across multiple chains. Those costs are certain; there is no airdrop to offset them.

Why We Built Airdrop Meta

36 million HYPE tokens went unclaimed over a missed T&C signature. That is $1.2 billion lost to a single update, and one of many such cases.

One overlooked deadline should not cost you a life-changing airdrop. Crypto Twitter is loud; we cut through it so you do not have to.
