Citrea is a zero-knowledge rollup that brings smart contracts to Bitcoin, built by Chainway Labs. Its mainnet launched on 27 January 2026.
CTR went live on 26 May 2026 with claims and staking opening together. Citrea's Genesis airdrop took a snapshot on 5 May 2026 and required registration from 11 to 17 May. It covered mainnet campaign users, holders of its testnet and devnet NFTs, Bitcoin developers and researchers, and community members, with sybil filtering applied.
