Event Timeline
About edgeX
edgeX is a high performance perpetuals DEX backed by Amber Group, which ran trading seasons and a points program before moving to its own EDGE Chain. The token generated on 31 March 2026 with trading opening the same day, after a delay the team confirmed publicly and capped at that date rather than leaving open ended.
The distribution is the notable part. The Genesis Distribution accounted for 25% of a one billion supply and it was fully unlocked at genesis, with a further 5% available to participants in the Pre-TGE Season points program. A quarter of supply released to the community on day one puts edgeX alongside Paradex among the most generous launches of 2026.
Eligibility targeted points holders and NFT holders from the trading seasons, and the claim window opened on 19 March, twelve days before the TGE itself. That ordering is worth noting because it is the opposite of the launches that closed registration before anyone knew what the token was worth.
Airdrop Stats
How it worked to get the edgeX airdrop
Trade through the seasons
edgeX ran trading seasons that accrued points, and those points were the primary basis for the Genesis Distribution.
Hold qualifying NFTs
NFT holders were targeted alongside points holders, giving a second route that did not depend purely on trading volume.
Join the Pre-TGE Season
A separate Pre-TGE Season points program carried up to an additional 5% of supply, on top of the 25% Genesis Distribution.
Claim from 19 March
The claim window opened on 19 March 2026, twelve days ahead of the token generation event, so eligibility could be checked before launch.
Receive fully unlocked at genesis
The Genesis Distribution released in full on 31 March 2026 at the TGE, with no cliff or vesting applied to the community portion.
Was the edgeX airdrop worth it?
- 25% fully unlocked is at the top end for 2026. Only Paradex, at 25% and also unvested, matches it among the launches catalogued here.
- The claim opened before the TGE. Twelve days ahead, so recipients could verify eligibility rather than registering blind and finding out later.
- The delay was handled openly. edgeX confirmed the TGE would slip but committed to a hard cap of 31 March rather than leaving the date indefinite, which is better practice than silence.
- There was a second bite. The Pre-TGE Season added up to 5% more supply for participants who kept farming through the run up.
- The wider allocation is not broken out. The remaining 70% is described only as Ecosystem and Community, Core Contributors and Foundation combined, with no published split between them.
