About Linea
Linea is a zkEVM rollup built by Consensys, the company behind MetaMask and Infura, which gave it an unusually direct route to users from the day it launched.
The September 2025 distribution paid out against two long campaigns. Voyage ran early, rewarding wallets that worked through structured on chain tasks, and Surge followed as a liquidity programme aimed at getting capital onto the chain and keeping it there.
The wait between those campaigns and the token was long by the standards of the period, and the distribution closed one of the last large outstanding Layer 2 launches.
