Pyth Network Airdrop Timeline
About Pyth Network
Pyth publishes price data on chain, sourced from trading firms and exchanges that contribute their own feeds rather than from third party node operators. By 2023 it was supplying prices to protocols across a long list of chains.
That created an unusual eligibility problem: almost nobody interacts with an oracle directly. The distribution therefore looked one layer up, at wallets that had used applications which consumed Pyth feeds, so users qualified through lending markets and perp venues they had traded on without knowing an oracle was involved.
Around 250M PYTH went to roughly 90,000 wallets across more than twenty chains.
Airdrop Stats

Pyth's 10-billion PYTH supply is heavily ecosystem-weighted: Ecosystem Growth takes 52% (5.2B) for developers, researchers, and contributors, and Publisher Rewards 22% (2.2B) go to the first-party data providers that power the oracle. The rest splits into Protocol Development 10%, Private Sales 10%, and Community & Launch 6% (600M, fully unlocked at launch and the source of the airdrop). PYTH launched November 20, 2023 at ~$0.32 (~$468M market cap), with a 255M airdrop to 90,000 wallets and only 15% circulating at launch, the remaining 85% unlocking at 6, 18, 30, and 42 months. Pyth is a first-party price oracle securing $1.5B+ across 120+ protocols, incubated by Jump Trading.

How it worked to get the Pyth Network airdrop
Use an app that reads Pyth feeds
Eligibility sat one layer up from the oracle itself, so lending markets and perp venues consuming Pyth prices qualified their users.
Spread activity across chains
More than twenty networks counted toward the snapshot, rewarding people active across several ecosystems.
Check the November 2023 snapshot
Roughly 90,000 wallets qualified, many of them without realising an oracle was involved in what they had been using.
Claim PYTH and stake for governance
Staked tokens carry a vote over how the network's data publishers are managed.
Was the Pyth Network airdrop worth it?
- Most recipients never touched Pyth. Almost nobody interacts with an oracle directly, so eligibility looked one layer up at wallets that had used applications consuming Pyth feeds. Users qualified through lending markets and perp venues without knowing an oracle was involved.
- It spanned more than twenty chains. Around 250M PYTH reached roughly 90,000 wallets across a very wide surface, which made the snapshot unusually hard to farm deliberately.
- Infrastructure airdrops are rare. Distributions usually reward front end usage. Rewarding the invisible layer underneath is the part of this one worth studying.
